Death Note – The Musical

This summer, the world premiere of Death Note: The Musical arrives in London for a strictly limited run at the Barbican Theatre: 50 performances only from 30 July to 12 September. Based on the legendary manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, this global phenomenon has captivated fans for nearly two decades.

Following multiple sell-out musical runs across Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, the story is now boldly reimagined for the London stage, created in close collaboration with original Japanese producers HoriPro. The production features a powerful and electrifying score by Tony, Grammy, and Emmy nominee Frank Wildhorn, with lyrics by Jack Murphy and a book by Ivan Menchell.

The story follows brilliant student Light Yagami, who discovers a mysterious notebook with the power to determine who lives and who dies. Determined to reshape the world and deliver his own vision of justice, Light begins eliminating criminals—until his actions attract the attention of the enigmatic and relentless detective L. What begins as a quest for justice soon spirals into a dangerous battle of wits, obsession, and morality.
